Simple Org Chart is run by Michael. This page explains what the site actually does with information — not what a generic SaaS template might claim.

Org charts stay in your browser

When you use the free editor, your org chart is stored in your browser's local storage on that device. It is not uploaded to our servers as part of normal editing. Premium “saved charts” also live in that browser storage — they are not synced to a cloud account.

If you clear browser data, use private browsing, or switch devices, charts may be lost unless you export them (for example as PNG).

If you create an account

An account is only needed to purchase or use Premium. Sign-in uses a magic link sent to your email address. We store your email and a session cookie so you can stay signed in. Payment status is stored so Premium features stay unlocked on your account.

Magic-link emails are sent through Resend. Payment is handled by Stripe — card details go to Stripe, not to us.

Analytics

We collect anonymous usage events (for example: export opened, checkout started) to understand which features people use. These events do not include names, job titles, email addresses, or chart contents.

When configured, we use PostHog for product analytics and Vercel Analytics for basic traffic metrics. PostHog may set cookies in your browser.

Feedback

If you send feedback, you choose what to include. Messages are emailed to hello@simpleorgchart.co.uk. Optional fields such as your name or reply-to address are only used to respond.
